Storm Damage and Flooding Reported in Northwest Louisiana

Strong storms roared across the region Monday night leaving a path of destruction. Red River Parish was the hardest hit in northwest Louisiana with trees down across the parish. At least one home in Hall Summit was heavily damaged when a tree fell on the home. Power was knocked out to thousands of Swepco customers because of tree limbs down on power lines. In Shreveport, emergency responders got several calls about flash flooding from the overnight rains. There were also several reports of tree limbs blocking some roads. Overnight, there were multiple listings on the Caddo 911 website regarding trees blocking roadways and flash flooding. Southern Hills in southwest Shreveport reported several issues during the height of the storm. So far, no injuries have been reported. Early Tuesday morning, there were nearly 6 thousand power outages reported across the Arklatex.
