Middleboro firefighter completes Massachusetts Firefighting Academy training, earns prestigious award

Friday, April 12, Middleborough firefighter Richard Johnson III graduated from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy’s (MFA) Career Recruit Training Program. Firefighter Johnson attended the program with 36 firefighters, representing 16 towns, including Attleboro, Dedham, Framingham, Harwich, Kingston, Malden, Medway, Melrose, Methuen, Middleborough, Peabody, Revere, Somerville, Taunton, Tewksbury and Yarmouth. The intensive, fifty (50) day program involves classroom instruction, physical fitness training, firefighter skills and live firefighting practice. Also, Johnson was awarded the prestigious Richard N. Bangs Award for his outstanding performance.
