Boston firefighters said they had to help two people out of a burning home in Roslindale on Wednesday evening. The pair were disoriented by heavy smoke and had to be led downstairs from the second floor, according to fire officials. Firefighters also rescued two parakeets and a 6-year-old turtle named "ShellShocker." "I was worried about her," said the turtle's owner, Kenny Wiggins. "But she's in water, so I figured she'd have enough time for the firemen to come in and save her." "Whether it's a turtle or a cat or a dog, firefighters usually always do the best they can to get not only the people, but the pets," said District 12 Fire Chief Scott Whalen.
