Michael Andrews, of Central Falls, Rhode Island, will serve as the next Wilbraham Fire Chief.
The Wilbraham Board of Selectmen chose Andrews Monday night, but the contract still has to be finalized before he officially becomes chief.
Andrews served as the acting deputy fire chief for the Central Falls Fire Department.
Before that, he served as lieutenant for eight years, and had been with the fire department since 2005. He is a former president of the Central Falls Firefighters Local 1485. IAFF AFL-CIO. Andrews will replace Fire Chief David Bourcier, who was appointed unanimously by the board in January 2017.
