Thick plumes of smoke could be seen coming from a multi-family home that was deemed a total loss in what is being investigated as a possible arson in Woburn, Massachusetts. Crews responded to a three-alarm house fire Friday morning on Sturgis Street, where flames ripped through a triple-decker home that housed 12 people. It is unclear what sparked the blaze, but firefighters deemed it as suspicious. Investigators are searching for a resident of the multi-family home. Firefighters were ordered to get out of the structure and continue their battle as an exterior effort because conditions in the home became too dangerous. The homeowner of the structure told NBC10 Boston she woke up to the smell of smoke. She also said the heavy smoke made it difficult to see inside. Homes next door to the fire were evacuated as a precaution.
