Firefighters were called to Harvard Yard for a report of a fire at Sever Hall, Saturday afternoon, according to fire officials. Fire officials called for a second alarm and backup after finding fire in the walls. According to early fire radio reports firefighters reported fire in the walls between the second and third floors. Command reported smoke. Sever Hall is one of Harvard University's academic buildings. It was designed by the architect H. H. Richardson and built in the late 1870s. In the 1970s it was designated a National Historic Landmark.
