Firefighters last week were allowed to return to their living quarters at the fire department’s headquarters, which was evacuated this fall after mold and debris fell into the workers’ living area while crews were repairing the fire station’s roof. Chief Ed Bradley said crews had finished cleaning up the mess and office staff have begun moving back into the building as well. Firefighters have been bunking in a trailer in front of the station since the problem happened in October. Bradley said the trailer will remain at the station because the kitchen at fire headquarters is still out of service. The station was one of two that the town was forced to vacate in recent weeks. In addition, firefighters were forced from the station in North Plymouth after debris began falling from a ceiling basement underneath the bay where firetrucks are normally parked.
