A truck driver was sent to an area hospital after the fire suppression system accidentally discharged at a Forest Park neighborhood gas station Monday. The accidental release occurred just before 2 p.m. at the Cumberland Farms, 514 Belmont Ave., said Fire Capt. Brian Tetreault, commander of the Arson & Bomb Squad. A Cumberland Farms truck driver, who was unloading merchandise at the store at the time of the discharge, was brought to the hospital with unknown injuries, he said. The release also covered three vehicles at the gas pumps with a white powder that is used in fire suppression, he said. The Emergency Preparedness and Health Department remains on scene waiting for cleanup crews, Tetreault said.
