Following Deputy Fire Chief Bryan LaCivita’s appointment as the new Raynham fire chief effective July 1, Fire Chief James Januse promoted four other members of the department and swore in a new firefighter at a promotion ceremony at Town Hall Tuesday evening. With friends and family in attendance at the standing-room-only event, Capt. Barrett Johnson, Lt. Jeffrey Kelleher, firefighter Jason Karns, firefighter Brad Carr and firefighter Trevor Chute were honored for their new ranks and achievements. Johnson was promoted to the rank of deputy chief. Johnson first joined the department as a call firefighter in 1995. He was hired full-time in 1998, promoted to the rank of lieutenant in 2012 and named captain in 2017.
Kelleher was promoted to the rank of captain. Like Johnson, Kelleher joined the department as a call firefighter in 1995 and was hired full-time in 1998. In January 2017, he was named acting lieutenant and was promoted to the rank of lieutenant later that year.
