Regional firefighters will compete in the Firefighter Combat Challenge on Friday and Saturday, June 14 and 15, at Berkshire Crossing, 555 Hubbard Ave. Competitors will race head-to-head as they simulate the physical demands of real-life firefighting by performing a linked series of five tasks while wearing full gear.
Activities begin at 5 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. Saturday. There will be food trucks, fire safety demos, and Eversource will have a demo as well. A scaled down version of the event called the Greylock Federal Credit Union Kid's Course is free to children ages 4-12.
