PHOTOS: A Dorchester man was killed in a rollover crash Friday night after colliding with a tow truck on Route 28. Jose Antonio Pina, 35, of Dorchester sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, where he was pronounced dead, according to police. The driver of the tow truck was not injured. There were no other occupants in either vehicle. About 9:59 p.m., Avon police and firefighters responded to Memorial Drive (Route 28) near the Generations Banquet Hall for a report of a rollover crash. First responders found a Ford sedan, which had extensive damage, resting on its passenger side. The driver of the car, later identified as Pina, was trapped in the vehicle when firefighters arrived on scene. He was later extricated from the vehicle by first responders using the Jaws of Life hydraulic extrication tool. Police said Pina was traveling northbound on Route 28 in the area of Connolly Road when he struck the 12-wheeler tow truck, which was towing a box truck at the time of the crash, that was traveling southbound in the area of 91 Memorial Dr., police reported.
