Officials believe a car was intentionally set on fire behind a closed toy store early Tuesday morning. The Brockton Fire Department responded to the former Toys “R” Us location, at 105 Campanelli Drive, for a report of a vehicle fire behind the building about 6:01 a.m. When firefighters arrived, they found a sedan engulfed by flames behind the building. The car was parked just about 10 feet from the building, but the fire was extinguished before the building sustained any damage. “It’s a very suspicious fire,” Deputy Fire Chief Edward Williams, a city fire inspector, told The Enterprise. “It’s a car that’s sitting in a parking lot and there’s no reason for it to be parked there and burning.”
