A propane fire in an outdoor grill damaged the exterior of a home Wednesday night, according to Tisbury Fire Chief John Schilling.
When fire crews arrived at 76 William St. around 5:30 p.m., the propane tank was on its side with flames shooting out like a Bunsen burner, Schilling said. The fire extended to the side of the house and traveled up the exterior shingles, he said.
There was no interior damage, but the fire damaged two patio doors, Schilling said.
The resident of the home was trying to put out the fire when crews arrived, Schilling said, and since the scene had been disturbed, an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire could not be performed, Schilling said.
There were no injuries, he said.
