Three people were displaced by a Sunday morning fire in the Forest Park neighborhood.
Firefighters responded to a call for help at about 6:05 a.m. and found the rear porches of 545-547 Dickinson St. on fire, Fire Capt. Brian Tetreault said.
No one was injured and the fire was extinguished quickly, he said.
An investigation by the Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad determined improper disposal of smoking materials sparked the fire. It caused about $25,000 in damage, he said. The Red Cross of Western Massachusetts is assisting the three adults who were displaced, Tetreault said.
