The Fire Commission will meet Thursday to discuss allegations against a trio of firefighters the panel earlier tried unsuccessfully to terminate.
Contacted on Tuesday, Westfield Fire Capt. Rebecca Boutin and Firefighters Kyle Miltimore and David Kennedy said the city sent them notices directing them to attend the Thursday meeting. They declined to comment further, on the advice of their lawyer, Maurice M. Cahillane. The meeting agenda, posted Tuesday by the city clerk, says the Fire Commission will “discuss the reputation, character, physical condition or mental health” of unnamed employees. It says the commission will discuss “the discipline or dismissal of, or complaints or charges brought against” them.
In 2018 the city took steps to terminate Boutin, Kennedy and Miltimore following an investigation by an outside attorney.
