The Board of Selectmen plan to meet behind closed doors on Tuesday night because Fire Chief Thomas Coulombe is threatening to sue them.
The chief, in an interview, said that is wrong and there is no pending litigation on his part.
Coulombe has been barred from coming to work since February, when selectmen and Ware Town Manger Stuart Beckley began investigating the chief.
When Coulombe was placed on paid administrative leave 8 months ago, Beckley, in a letter to the chief, said the action should not be deemed punitive. Beckley wrote that it was prudent the chief be relieved of duty to conduct a fair investigation involving a money issue involving him, and a personnel issue related to his son, Ware Fire Lt. Brian Coulombe.
