A Falmouth man is dead and another is in critical condition following a fiery car crash in Bourne, according to police.
The Bourne Police Department said it responded at 3:22 a.m. Saturday to the single-vehicle crash on Sandwich Road, which is also known as Route 6A. According to the Bourne Fire Department, the crash happened near 220 Sandwich Road, which is the location of Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical High School.
Upon arrival, officers found a Mercedes sedan fully engulfed in flames.
Police said they used fire extinguishers to knock down the flames and freed the driver, who was trapped inside the vehicle. Officers then noticed another man in the front passenger seat and were quickly able to get him out of the vehicle.
