A regional dispatch center opening in Foxborough has the technology to pinpoint a callers exact location, whether in a moving car or in the middle of a parking lot.
Nestled on a hill in the middle of F. Gilbert Hills State Forest, the Southeastern Massachusetts Regional Emergency Communications Center will handle all emergency calls from Foxborough, Mansfield, Easton, and Norton.
Foxborough and Mansfield were the first to go live on the regional system this summer during phase one, temporarily working out of Foxborough Public Safety building before moving into the new building on Thursday, Nov. 19.
The main operations center will improve emergency response times for police, fire, and EMS, and have the capability of serving as a command post emergency operations centers for large events at Gillette Stadium.
