A resident was treated for smoke inhalation after a blaze at a single-family Bradford home Wednesday morning.
Haverhill fire and police were dispatched about 7:15, this morning, to 43 Upland Ave. after receiving a call from an occupant at the home. Fire Chief William F. Laliberty told WHAV the home incurred severe second floor fire damage and water damage throughout. He estimated a loss of between $100,000 and $150,000.
“The fire crews did an excellent job tackling the fire,” Laliberty said.
Of the two occupants, one was not at home and the other was taken to Holy Family Hospital for smoke inhalation. He said the blaze likely began in a second-floor bedroom, but did not want to speculate on the cause. Flames could be seen emerging from the roof early on. An investigation is underway.
