A pedestrian suffered serious injuries Tuesday when he was pinned between two vehicles following a crash in West Newbury, according to fire officials. The incident happened shortly after 4 p.m. following a crash in the stretch of Ferry Lane between Bridge and Church streets. When first responders arrived at the scene, they discovered that a 48-year-old man became pinned between the two vehicles that were involved in the rear-end crash. West Newbury Fire Chief Michael Dwyer says the man who was pinned was driving one of the vehicles involved in the crash. He got out of his vehicle and became pinned when the other driver accidentally hit the accelerator. The victim was flown by medical helicopter to a Boston area hospital with serious injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening.
