Five people, including a police officer, were injured early Friday in a house fire in Oxford, Massachusetts.
Four family members were in the home at 45 Leicester St. when the fire broke out at 12:45 a.m. "Police officers were first on scene and found a condition where there was fire from all four sides of the building and occupants were attempting to get out," Oxford Fire Chief Laurent McDonald said.
A woman and two teenage children smelled smoke and were able to get out of the burning home.
“The mother and one teenager made it out through the main floor. The other teenager was in the basement and made it out through the bulkhead,” McDonald said. A man in his 30s who was trapped in the home jumped from the second floor of the residence.
