An afternoon walk to Wing Island on Cape Cod turned frightening for a group of eight people and one dog on Wednesday.
Brewster fire officials received a call from a group of three adults and five children who were stuck on the Brewster island when high tide came in around 12:47 p.m., officials said.
"Group 1 members responded to the location, assessed the situation, and implemented a rescue plan which included Captain Mike Gerlach and FF's Tim Johnson and Alex McHugh donning water rescue suits and removing three adults, five children, and one canine from the island," officials said.
All were safely removed from the island, and no injuries were reported.
