Officials: Boat fire causes $100K in damages in Queen Anne's County; investigation ongoing

The cause of a boat fire remains under investigation after officials say the incident caused $100,000 in damages, in Queen Anne's County. The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal says on Tuesday, just before 9:30 AM, multiple bystanders at the marina, in the area of Tackle Circle, discovered a boat fire. Officials say the Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene, where 20 firefighters worked to put out the blaze in 30 minutes. According to the report, the fire started in the living quarters located towards the stern of the 50' "Catamaran Cruisers" house boat. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities say the incident resulted in $100,000 in estimated damages.
