No one was injured Monday, June 11 as fire destroyed a two-story detached garage in Calvert County. The blaze off Fairgrounds Road was reported at approximately 11:16 a.m. “The cause of this fire is currently under investigation,” the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office reported. Damage to the structure, on property owned by Calvert County Government, and Stanley and Ruanne Watson, is estimated at $100,000.
Forty firefighters responded to the one-alarm blaze and brought the flames under control in 30 minutes. The blaze was discovered by the owner.
