A firefighter was injured and a Great Mills house left in ruins after a weekend fire. There's not much left of a two-story home on Finnea Way in Great Mills after a fire broke out in the early morning hours of August 10. A neighbor reported the blaze around 5:30 a.m. on Saturday. Fifty firefighters from the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department spent two hours extinguishing the flames. One firefighter was taken to the hospital with an ankle injury and was treated and released. The State Fire Marshall says the fire started in the garage but the exact cause is still under investigation.
