Frustration among firefighters in Frederick County, Md., is brewing after the president of the local fire union says improvements for working conditions are merely sitting at the desk of the county with nothing being done.
"The voters spoke in support of the firefighters and with us having a voice at the table and there has been no movement what so ever,” said President of the Career Firefighters Association of Frederick County, Local 3666, Stephen Jones.
Jones said nothing has been done to help change the needs for career fire and rescue services.
In the 2018 election, several questions were asked on the ballot including Question D. It would amend the current Frederick County charter to allow the county career firefighters union to use collective bargaining and provide binding arbitration by a neutral party.
