A decontamination site is now up and running across from Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin to protect first responders while also flattening the curve.
“We’re hoping we can leave it right there on site instead of cross contaminating it and bringing it back to the fire house,” says Rob Korb, Senior Deputy Fire Marshal in Worcester County.
“It can be used for the ambulance. It can be used for Sheriff’s Department, police, any law enforcement, fire trucks, anything that needs to be decontaminated it can be utilized for,” says Matt Owens, Chief Deputy Fire Marshal in Worcester County.
The site has a large tent to cover vehicles as well as a trailer with supplies to sanitize anything and anyone that may come into contact with a positive COVID-19 patient.
