A fire baton twirler has died from her injuries Thursday after a shed fire two days ago in Kensington, Maryland. Montgomery County Police have not released the victim's identity at this time. The woman suffered significant burn injuries and was in critical condition at the time. A man suffered non-life-threatening burn injuries. Both victims were transported to the Washington Hospital Burn Unit. On Feb. 12, Montgomery County Fire officials reported that it was probable that the woman doused (or prepared to douse a baton) in kerosene and it ignited catching her combustible clothing on fire. As a "twirler" she is known to store materials in a shed. The fire occurred on Feb. 11 at a shed located on Summit Avenue and the estimated fire damage is $10,000.
