A Cambridge home is severely damaged after an accidental fire broke out on Saturday morning. The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the fire began at 11:46 a.m. at a two-story, single family home on 119 Willis Street. Homes on either side of the property, and a Ford Truck parked in a driveway, were damaged as well. It took an hour for 50 firefighters from the Rescue (Cambridge) Company and surrounding fire departments to put out the blaze. The Fire Marshal's office revealed the fire began in the kitchen after food was left cooking unattended. The fire caused an estimated $80,000 in damages to the home and $20,000 in damages to its contents. A cat died in the fire, but no injuries were reported.
