Five people were injured and sent to be treated at the hospital after a D.C. EMS ambulance was involved in a crash with a civilian vehicle Monday evening.
Three adult male civilians were sent to be treated for injuries, two in serious and one in critical condition, D.C. police say.
One adult male and one adult female firefighter were sent for non-life-threatening injuries, police added.
D.C. police say the area of 4000 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SW between Atlantic Street and Brandywine Place, SW has been shut down in both directions until further notice, due to the crash. Drivers are being asked to use an alternate route.
