Two Baltimore firefighters, one civilian taken to hospital following fire, assault reported

FOX45 has received reports that bottles were being thrown at firefighters as they attempted to put out a first floor fire in the 4500 block of Eastern Avenue. According to police, they received a call from the fire department around 8:15 p.m., to report an assault that occurred at the scene. However, the BPD spokesperson is not aware of any arrests made. Baltimore City fire officials say they responded to a reported fire in the 4500 block of Eastern Ave, where fire was showing from the first floor upon arrival. The fire was reportedly placed under control just after 8:30 p.m. Fire officials report that two fire department members and one civilian were all transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Baltimore City police nor fire departments can confirm whether the injuries of the firefighters or civilian were caused from the reported assault or fire.
