A countywide alert was distributed by the Department of Emergency Services yesterday afternoon to first responders in St. Mary’s, notifying them of a major loss of a coworker and friend. Mike Cahall, a Chief at the Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad, recently passed away while out of the country.
“This morning Shawn Davidson received devastating news of the passing of his husband Mike Cahall,” the announcement said. “Please respect Shawn’s privacy and allow him time to grieve.”
Following the announcement, an outpouring of support has been found across the whole EMS community in Southern Maryland.
