PHOTO: 35 firefighters from seven communities spent more than six hours on Friday battling a garage fire in Millinocket that spread to nearby homes. Crews responded to the fire on Medway Road just after 9 a.m. to find a garage to be fully involved, with a number of propane tanks nearby. Officials say the fire was spreading to the house and a neighbor’s house. We’re told the garage was destroyed. Meanwhile, a neighbor’s home received significant damage. The fire also damaged a camper and boat. Another home nearby received some minor damage. No one was hurt in the fire, officials say. The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical in nature, according to the Millinocket Fire Department. The department reminds folks to have working smoke alarms and to test them regularly.
