A new fire department is getting backlash before its on duty. The city of Grand Blanc recently separated its joint operation with Grand Blanc Township after decades of working together. The council took a step further at Wednesday night’s meeting by swearing in their new fire chief and purchasing hundreds of thousand dollars’ worth of equipment. "Our level of services will most likely go down,” said one concerned resident. He wasn’t the only who voiced their opinion about the cities new Fire Department. Grand Blanc City Hall council chambers were overflowing with many people upset with the council’s decision to moved forward and created its fire department. One after another people who live in the city hammered away at council members.
