The Bronson Fire Department recently received funds donated in the memory of Mary Ann Smoker. The 86-year-old Bronson resident passed away March 21, 2019. Fire officials say the funds will be used to improve the safety of the Bronson community by allowing them to continue expansion of their hands-on training facility which is located on West Central Road just east of Sutton Tool. The facility gives firefighters a chance to practice search and rescue operations. It was dedicated last July after Phil Fatato and Rebecca Payne of Arizona donated about $28,000 from the Fatato Family Foundation to the Bronson Fire Department.
