A domestic terrorist organization, led by a disgruntled former college professor, has just set off a nuclear bomb on the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit.
Tens of thousands of people are dead or injured, emergency services are at a standstill, and people across the country are reeling in shock and horror.
That’s the mock scenario the Michigan Army National Guard’s 46th Military Police Command and dozens of other local, state, national and international groups have been training for in Dearborn and Detroit this week.
The group, which included the Dearborn and Detroit Police and Fire departments, the Department of Homeland Security, the Canadian military and many other groups, spent two days at the Beaumont Learning & Innovation Center in Dearborn running the scenario and responses to it in real time.
