The Portage Department of Public Safety responded to a call in the 4200 block of Frederick Lane at approximately 5:15 a.m. Tuesday on a report of a mobile home fire, according to a news release from the city.
No one was reported to be home when firefighters arrived and 50 percent of the home was up in flames upon arrival, the release states.
“Firefighters made a quick aggressive attack and the fire was quickly placed under control,” city officials say about the Tuesday, July 16, fire. The home appears to be a total loss, and Portage firefighters are still on scene investigating. No injuries were reported during the incident, officials say.
