The City of Potterville has officially received a proposal for fire services from Benton Township and the proposal is currently under review.
Aaron Sheridan, City Manager, said Benton Supervisor, Roger Wickerham dropped off the Benton Township Proposal for Public Fire Protection and Protection Service to Potterville's Treasurer shortly before noon Tuesday.
Benton Township was the only mutual aid partner to show interest in providing fire services for the city, since the city submitted a request for proposal from neighboring townships in April.
The city's Fire Chief and Assistant Fire Chief, Ryan Lundquist, also resigned back in late April.
Lundquist left a resignation that referred to a history of problems in the last year-and-a-half between him and the city.
He claimed he worked in a hostile work environment and was harassed.
He also claims the city has not been transparent in their talks of dissolving the department.
