The Waterford Regional Fire Department recently received a $2,000 donation for its Fire Safety Program. Genisys Credit Union, a five-year sponsor of the year-long program, also donated another $1,000 to support the fire department’s annual open house event where the public gets a behind the scenes look at the department. The Fire Safety Programs brings fire education to elementary schools in Pontiac and Waterford, teaching kids fire escape protocols with a portable safety house. The department also helps families create fire safety plans. “Waterford Regional Fire Dept. would like to thank Genisys Credit Union for their continued support and generous donations,” Kurt Vine, Waterford Regional Fire prevention education coordinator, said.
