Lansing St. at approximately 4:13 p.m. Tuesday for reports of smoke rolling out of the two-apartment housing unit. The fire was contained to the lower apartment, and firefighters quickly extinguished it, according to a Mt. Pleasant city blog post. The occupants of both apartments got out of the house uninjured. No firefighters were injured. Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire, which caused smoke and flame damage to the lower floor and heavy smoke damage to the upper.
