The Marine City Fireman’s Ball will mark its 145th year Feb. 1 at Rivertown Event Centre, with proceeds going toward the purchase of life-saving equipment at the fire department.
The doors to the event will open at 6 p.m. for a cocktail hour. At 7 p.m., dinner will be served buffet style. Dinner options will include chicken, pork rolls, macaroni and cheese, salad and mashed red skins.
“I have heard that people come for the pork rolls,” said event organizer Bradley Thueme, who is a firefighter and paramedic for the Marine City Area Fire Authority. He said Tony & Mary’s Catering had provided the food in the past, and Rivertown Event Centre representatives researched how to make them to accommodate guests.
“After dinner, we draw for a door prize and announce the winners of the basket raffles,” Thueme said.
