A significant fire at Deleeuw Lumber, 79 James St. in Holland Township on Saturday, June 27, 2020, damaged a building but no one was injured, according to a statement emailed to media by Holland Township fire authorities.
No one was hurt.
A passerby saw flames coming from the building at 3:47 p.m. Saturday and called 911. Ottawa County Sheriff's deputies and Park Township firefighters also responded to the call for help.
Holland Township fire officials indicated that damage estimates were still being made Saturday evening. The building, used for wood finishing, was mostly empty prior to the fire. Most of the loss will be the cement block building itself.The exact cause of the fire is unknown at this point, but initial indications suggest it was accidental.
