A Dearborn Heights firefighter is off work and under quarantine awaiting his COVID-19 test results, according to Fire Chief David Brogan.
Due to privacy laws, the firefighter’s name and age weren’t released at this time.
Brogan said the firefighter has been on several calls with patients who have symptoms of the virus and has since developed a high fever and other symptoms himself. “He’s home and doesn’t need hospitalization yet,” Brogan said. “He feels very bad, but otherwise isn’t having breathing issues.”
Brogan said the firefighter was tested for the flu, and it came back negative, but the coronavirus test results haven’t come back yet.
