The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is continuing its investigation of a house fire early Friday morning in the 200 block of Hughes St. Officers responded to the report of a fire at around 3:13 a.m., and upon arrival discovered heavy flames and smoke in the house. One resident of the house was treated at the scene for minor injuries. Officers controlled the fire after about 40 minutes. They say the house suffered heavy damage. The cause is being investigated by the Fire Marshall. Anyone having information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety or Silent Observer.
