One person is confirmed dead in a Sunday morning house fire in Flint Township.
Firefighters responded to the scene, in the 3200 block of Southgate Drive shortly after 8 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 28, a news release from the Flint Township Fire Department states.
Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke from the first floor windows of the home. Firefighters entered the house and found high heat and heavy smoke conditions on the main floor, the release states. Crews extinguished the fire as they conducted a search for a woman believed to be trapped inside.
Firefighters found the woman deceased in her bedroom. Her name has not been released.
One other occupant of the home was injured during the incident. He, along with the remaining members of the home were taken to a local hospital, the release states.
