Two veteran Clinton Township firefighters were recently promoted and a new hire was sworn in as a fighter/paramedic.
Clinton Township Fire Chief Tim Duncan congratulated Aaron Schmid, who was promoted to deputy chief of administration and Ryan Amormino, who was elevated the lieutenant paramedic. Stephen Caron, the department's newest member, took his oath as a firefighter.
"I always say we have the best fire and police departments," said Bob Cannon, the township supervisor. "And the public backs me up every time they vote for a millage to support our first responders."
Schmidt, a graduate of De La Salle Collegiate High School, took courses at Oakland University then entered the Detroit Fire Academy. Upon graduation, he joined the Detroit Fire Department (DFD), and from there moved on to the Clinton Township Fire Department.
