At least one person died in a crash on southbound U.S. 23 outside Ann Arbor Tuesday morning, snarling the morning commute.
Police are on scene on southbound U.S. 23 near Michigan Avenue in Pittsfield Township, east of Ann Arbor, investigating the crash that occurred at about 6:55 a.m. on Oct. 12, according to Michigan State Police.
Emergency crews responding to the crash have reported one fatality, police said. The cause of the crash is unknown and additional information is unavailable at this time.
Southbound U.S. 23 is restricted to a single lane causing traffic to back up in the area. Motorists are advised to avoid the area while police continue to investigate the crash for several hours.
