A vehicle and garage were destroyed and the nearby home severely damaged by fire Monday afternoon.
The Richland Township Fire Department responded to the report of a house fire around 3:20 p.m. on Sept. 13, on Cottonwood Street just north of East DE Avenue, Assistant Fire Chief Rick Hoffman said.
A passerby alerted the people inside the house to the fire, Hoffman said. Everyone made it out of the house safely and no one was injured. The fire started on the southwest side of the house, near the garage, Hoffman said. The cause of the fire is under investigation and is believed to be accidental.
The garage and a vehicle were destroyed in the fire. The fire also damaged the house connected to the garage.
