PHOTOS: Fowlerville firefighters began moving equipment into a new 17,960-square-foot station this past week, and have bid farewell to their former station they occupied for more than 40 years. The Fowlerville Area Fire Department's old Station 41, at 200 N. Grand Ave., was approximately 6,700 square feet and was 43 years old. Firefighters began moving into the new station March 13, but Chief Bob Feig said there's still a lot to do in preparation for the grand opening from noon to 4 p.m. April 29. A ribbon cutting is slated for 1 p.m. that day. The $5.6 million station was paid for through a $3 million bond proposal and about $2.6 million the department previously saved. The proposal as approved by voters in December 2021.
