One firefighter was injured at the scene of a blaze where a motorhome, sitting inside a garage, caught fire.
The firefighter, who was not identified, sustained minor injuries connected to the Saturday, March 18 blaze, Escanaba police said.
Authorities did not say what the extent of the firefighter’s injuries were or their current condition.
Police responded to a 12:49 p.m. report of a structure fire at a home located at 3701 18th Road. Police said a motorhome was on fire inside of the garage. When police arrived at the scene there was heavy smoke coming from the garage. Officers made entry through the front doors and quickly extinguished the fire.
Ventilation was required to remove heavy smoke. Police later learned the motorhome had been left running in the garage for about one hour and a large wood stove was being used to burn garbage.
